A few decent places to dine around there. The view of the port turning basin is nice if you get that side and the marina is not bad either. It is a nice place, and I would stay there again for a few different reasons even if is not quite the same as in the past. The Hilton Marina is probably pretty close, if not done, with a remodel. We have done a few cruises out of there and I have been to the area a number of times for work. With DCL just starting to do a regular rotation at Port Everglades, it will be interesting to see what they organize as a company. Is it best to not even worry about Disney transportation getting to the cruise terminal and just use what is available from the hotels and only worry about using Disney transportation for getting from the cruise terminal to the airport? Regarding Disney transportation from the airport it is my understanding that there is no hotel at the airport like the Hyatt in Orlando so if not flying into Ft Lauderdale the day of the cruise are there any hotels surrounding the airport that are within walking distance so that if you are using Disney transportation from the airport you will not need to shuttle from the hotel to the airport? Are all of the hotels in the area using third party companies to shuttle from/to the airport and cruise terminal? Do they all have to be booked in advance? No mention in their reply regarding partnering with Disney or what that meant. They said they do not have any shuttles of their own and use third party shuttles. I tried reaching out to Hilton Marina but you can only text them. DCL mentioned that they will be partnering with the Hilton Marina and B Ocean hotels for transportation and will have transportation originating from the airport and from the terminal to the airport but no real information available yet. I was trying to figure out where to stay the night before when flying into Ft Lauderdale and how shuttling to the hotel and cruse terminal will work. I like to plan as much as possible in advance and know what to expect when we arrive. I know that Disney is starting to cruise out of Ft Lauderdale in November so maybe others on the disboards can help. We just booked the Dream for late 2024 out of Ft Lauderdale which will be DCL's second home port in Florida.
